Anemia

Diaper Rash
Diaper rash is a very common skin infection caused by urine or stool. It appears on the diaper-covered skin. Frequent diaper changing is advisable to prevent the irritation or use cloth diaper to make the skin breathe a little. Ointments were advised by dermatologists but cleanliness is the key.

Constipation
Constipation is very common among infants. A constipated baby has bowel movement that looks hard. More fluid intakes are advisable for infants who undergo constipation. Baby would feel irritable and uneasy when they are constipated. It is better to consult with the health care provider regarding this matter.

Colds
A cold is a viral infection of baby’s nose and throat. Giving more fluids and keeping the air moist is a home remedy. During the first signs of colds, parents should consult pediatricians right away.

Diarrhea
Diarrhea is defined as loose, watery, unformed stools. Fever, not wanting to eat and irritability comes along with diarrhea. Bring the baby to the pedia right away when you notice the symptoms of diarrhea as it may lead to dehydration.

Hay Fever
Hay fever or allergic rhinitis is very common among infants who have family history of asthma and other kinds of allergies. Consult the doctor first before administering medicines because although it can be brought over the counter, it should be administered depending on the severity of the condition. Also it is better to avoid foods that would cause allergies, always clean the surroundings and provide a smoke-free environment for the baby.

When baby is sick, it is emotionally draining for both first time parents. Infants need close attention because they cannot communicate with their feelings. When something is hurting or they feel uncomfortable, they cannot articulate what is happening so we remain helpless. However, bringing them right away to pediatricians is not the only solution to the problem. We should try to address the problem by getting to know the moods of the child and by making sure that everything around the baby is clean and well taken care of.
